ST Scholarship: Directorate of higher & technical education, Meghalaya, invites applications for the Umbrella Scheme of scholarship of the ministry of tribal Affairs. The scheme is only for students who are permanent domicile of Meghalaya studying within and outside the state. There are two types of scholarships provided, namely Pre-Matric & Post-Matric. The scholarship aims to support the education of students belonging to the reserved category (Scheduled tribes).

Under this scheme, a total of 1000 scholarships and 759 fellowships are rewarded to the selected ST category students. What is the Eligibility Criteria for ST Scholarship

The applicants have to belong to the ST category.
Class 11th and 12th pursuing candidates are eligible to apply.
The applicants have to study recognized government schools.
The applicant’s age should be below 35 years.
UG, Master’s degree, Ph.D., M.Phil candidates can apply for this scholarship.
55% marks are required for Ph.D. candidates.
The applicant’s yearly family income will be below Rs.6 lakhs.
